Dear Community Members,

The Gearhart Volunteer Fire Association is excited to announce that the Annual Firefighters Ball is finally back! The event will be held on Saturday May 25th, 2024, Memorial Day weekend. We hope to see you there!

 

The Gearhart Fire Department appreciates any donations to help us meet our goals. We truly value the partnership we have with our community and are very thankful for your continued support throughout the years. Your favorite Gearhart Fire apparel is available year round on our online store at www.gearhartfire.com/store , and we will also be selling merchandise at the Firefighters Ball and July 4th. Click pick up at location, if you would like to pick up your merchandise in person (at 670 Pacific Way) and waive shipping fees.

 

All funds generated by your donations and merchandise purchases go towards programs we sponsor and projects benefiting the service we provide to the community. Last year, your donations allowed us to raise money for our new Water Rescue Program. We were able to purchase two Rescue Water Crafts as well as outfit our trained rescue swimmers with the proper personal protective equipment for water emergencies.

 

In the future, our goal is to raise money to purchase equipment, such as thermal imagers, to aid fire personnel with locating heat and fire sources and searching for victims. Thermal imagers are often used in the process of identifying victim locations in obscured environments. They can also be utilized to find fires that may be hidden within walls, ceilings, or other void spaces. The use of thermal imagers has a major impact on protecting the community and preserving property for homeowners.
